- Mothers volunteered throughout the tough times of
- WWII working in hospitals, train stations,
- packing care packages for soldiers and
- were a working part of homeland security
- during times of war. Growth of BSMA was
- amazing through WWI I and the Korean War.
- With anti-war sentiments of Vietnam and
- then times of peace, the numbers in
- membership depleted and Blue Star
- Mothers almost became a forgotten
- legacy. Around the country, proud Moms
- like us are striving to revive the tradition,
- patriotism, and pride of so many Moms
- before us. We are determined to continue
- their historic tradition in support of all the
- brave sons and daughters serving in the
- United States military
